Rfv of all senses under etymology 1, namely:

  • (adverb) in a contrary manner, contrariwise
  • (adverb) in return
  • (adjective) contrary

All of the hits I found on Google Books that weren't scannos or duplicates: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], although I could have missed some. They all seem to fit into etymology 2, i.e. "of or relating to gain or increase" (a few are specifically about electronic gain).

Archive.org only has a few relevant search results, which are duplicates of the first and penultimate Google Books ones. 98.170.164.88 19:53, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yep, that is an error. Leasnam (talk) 21:05, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Removed Etymology 1, and corrected the remaining PoS, it's an Adverb. Leasnam (talk) 21:09, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
