Partial calque?

[edit]

Partial calque has a very specific definition. This does not fit said definition. It doesn't refer to calquing one part of a compound word and then doing whatever with the other part(s); it refers to calquing one part, and borrowing another. A good example is fretka - the -ka component is a calque, but the fret component was borrowed directly from Frettchen. Insaneguy1083 (talk) 21:05, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
