Figurative sense origin
[edit]Any chance the figurative sense (“one who upsets the status quo”) comes from Socrates' self-identification as such in the Apology? Or is it more likely that it was independently formed in English? Andrew Sheedy (talk) 02:41, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
