I've just been eating a gâche and it's not a fruit bread. It's from the Vendée (a region in western France). It's not unlike a brioche but less rich - probably less egg or butter than a brioche. BurrLaury (talk) 12:04, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
- In English, it has a specific meaning of a fruitcake made in Guernsey. In French, yes, there is a specific regional sense in the Vendée referring to a type of local brioche. We were missing that sense; I've now added it. Ƿidsiþ 12:40, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
