- @Lingo Bingo Dingo: I'm not familiar with Middle French, but the Dictionnaire du Moyen Français has an entry for fugitif, so I've added it to the entry. However, I think it still makes sense to call it a borrowing from Latin in French; I do that too for learned French terms ultimately derived from Ancient Greek but that transitioned through Latin (I'm speaking of the likes of Empédocle, not beurre). I won't object to your changing it to
