The Chaucer quote is:
- Hengwrt: "fflemere of feendes", scan, text
- Ellesmere: "fflemere of feendes", scan, text (paragraph 2, line 5 on page)
- 1542: "flemere of fendes", scan (column 2, line 4 on page)
- 1860: "Flemer4 of fiendës", scan
But do any other quotations exist? Chaucer wrote in Middle English, anyway. (I'm confused about whether the 1860 one can count since it's basically in Modern English, with occasional obsolete words.) 98.170.164.88 02:32, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
