Our def says it's sauce made from fish. Chambers 1908 defines it as "sauce proper to be eaten with fish, as anchovy, etc.". But that is an unfortunate example to make the case with, because anchovies also happen to be fish. Equinox 23:28, 24 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
