2nd def - what does it mean?
[edit]'Metaphorically so called'. How does it difer from the first definition, provided it's meant to be an adjective? (Both the translations for this sense say 'Adverb' on their pages.)
I am pleased...
[edit]that wiktionary has not assigned 'figural' (meaning an artistic representation of a human figure) as a synonym for figurative. Many educated art lovers use it this way, and it is wrong. "His art has improved a lot since he took life drawing classes." "Really? I thought he was already good at figurative art." Retch. Other (lesser) dictionaries online have included this barbarism, never do that, please. 24.27.31.170 05:39, 23 October 2011 (UTC) Eric
"as when saying that someone who eats more than they should is a pig or like a pig."
[edit]this is an extremely bizarre primary-definition 2406:3003:2005:32A8:11C0:1193:907E:689B 18:44, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
