Apron?

[edit]

John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1873) has the sense of "a small apron worn by ladies". The Ohio Educational Monthly (volume 66, page 184) has reference to a girl coming home with "her fig-leaf apron torn half off", but I'm not sure: might just be a patterned apron. Couldn't find anything else. Equinox 03:21, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
