I would say that this is "fiber" optics. Actually a popular protocol "Fibre Channel" specifically uses "fibre" to suggest that it is not purely fiber optic, but can also be transmitted over copper cables. --195.212.29.171 09:25, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
