Talk:fair to middling
Add topicA favourite expression in the Ottawa Valley of North Eastern Ontario roughly meaning "not bad" as in "how are you doing?", "oh, fair to middling". The Ottawa Valley Twang with its heavy Scots/Irish influence corrupts this to sound more like Fair ta middlin". According to a recent bar room discussion in San Francisco, it is apparently also in use in the mid-west and Texas.
It is used all over the South and is not a "corruption" but rather normal talk.
