The Middle English descendant seems to indicate that the g in this word was a voiced velar fricative. There is also a gloss in Old English as fǣhit (or faehit (pingit)) also showing that this may have been the case. Does anyone have any other insights ? Leasnam (talk) 15:14, 24 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
