Express
[edit]Which is quicker " Express" and " Expedite"? What is the difference? —This unsigned comment was added by 203.179.86.9 (talk • contribs) 2006-07-27T07:27:37.
- "Expedite" is used like this:
- He expedited the search by alphabetizing the papers.
- The senses of "express" that are verbs do not generally indicate quickness:
- He has difficulty expressing his feelings.
- (No speed is implied by the verb "express".)
- The senses of "express" that generally indicate quickness are not verbs:
- He rode the express train to Seattle.
- ("Express" is an adjective in this sense.)

[edit]Is there a reason the usage example only shows past tense of the verb and not present tense? — This unsigned comment was added by 74.95.24.49 (talk) at 16:19, 29 August 2012 (UTC).
