It may be disingenuous to say Steinhardt coined an ancient word. More accurate would probably be to say he named it? —Muke Tever 23:34, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I took it to mean Steinhardt coined the new word from the ancient one. I've reworded it accordingly. Hopefully it's a bit clearer now. Ortonmc 16:38, 22 Apr 2004 (UTC)
I was biased to use the term "coined" because that's what Steinhardt said to me. If that's not proper linquistic usage (coined means create a new word that's uninspired by any etymology; has an etymology but is different from the borrowed original; or introduce a new word into the language regardless of inspiration? Our definition only says "to make up".) then the proper word should be used. After all, what's a cosmologist know about proper word usage? Oh wait, we are supposed to be descriptive not proscriptive...
