I first heard of "Ecophobia" through an email I received from a Community Improvement Group (The Brockton Initiative, http://brockton.dyndns.org) volunteer. I thought we should share this with everyone, so I've added a definition to Wiktionary. What follows is the relevant portion of the original email.
Soooo! What did you think about the [presentation] - [Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth]? There is a new term out called "ecophobia". Particularly found in children because of their fear and powerlessness to stop the possibilities of cataclysmic changes.
