Incorrect definition

[edit]

Your definition of dysrhythmia is: A disturbance to an otherwise normal rhythm (especially of the heart).

The qualifier "especially of the heart" is all too restrictive and not even quite right, as that condition is more commonly called arrhythmia.

The medical term for jet lag is "circadian dysrhythmia".

According to http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/dysrhythmia and www.thefreelibrary, dysrhythmia includes

  • disturbed sinus rhythms
  • abnormal brain waves
  • disturbance, irregularity or abnormality in an otherwise normal bodily rhythmic pattern

Use of the term does seem to be restricted to (human) body functions, not to other natural or mechanical rhythms.
