Guido van Rossum has claimed on Twitter the origin of the word used for the Python programming language:

The word "dunder" was coined on September 26, 2002, by Mark Jackson and Tim Hochberg.

Following the links, they point to this email thread, where this term was indeed suggested by two people within 12 mins of each other. However, van Rossum's tweet raises the relevance of this email discussion 18 years later, so I'm unsure which is a better source. Mwtoews (talk) 02:49, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
