Hello, a question : must necessarily

a "double act" pair act in comic sketches or films , & a "duettist" pair be serious - or not ? T.y. Arapaima 10:07, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

A double act (in English) always has a comic element, but it is not always "low" comedy. Note the quote about Rosencrantz and Guildenstern from Shakespeare; they are a double act in an otherwise very serious play. Also note that Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker (a famous British comedy pair) are not considered a double act, even though they are a comic pair. --EncycloPetey 02:59, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Thank you E.P. In french, duettists are no more a pair acting in a drama , or playing classical music : I remember very vividly how (back in the '50) , our « prof. de français » dragged me by the ear (after one more bad prank ) , along with a pal, up the school stairs and said « Head, here are the « duettistes », caught at last « la main dans le sac » (red-handed) ».
