dol op, (stapel)gek op, verzot op
[edit]@Lambiam, Thadh, Morgengave, Rua, DrJos, Alexis Jazz: I am not super fond of this kind of entry. Constructs of the type "crazy" + op are often used for fondness, so a significant degree of substitutability is in evidence. Should the meaning be moved to the adjective entry? On the other hand, there is an entry for keen on, but there may be greater variety in prepositions in English expression. ←₰-→ Lingo Bingo Dingo (talk) 13:21, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
- I have the impression that the combination with op is obligatory when these adjectives are used in this sense, unlike for verliefd. The restriction to predicative use – again, unlike verliefd – shows that these are idiomatically fixed combinations. I wonder though if the idiom is not dol zijn op – in which case the predicative restriction need not be mentioned. If included separately, these idioms should be listed as derived terms at the nude adjectives. (I have heard just stapel used many times as an adjective; a co-worker was fond of asking, “Ben je nou helemáál stapel?”). --Lambiam 14:51, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
