Heraldry

In trying to find the translation for denticulada in heraldry, I found this:

• 1660, John Guillim, Francis Nower, A Display of Heraldie: Manifesting a More Easie Access to the Knowledge Therof Then Hath Hitherto Been Published by Any, Through the Benefit of Method, page 27:

[Image of a shield gules with a bordure indented (with sharp sawlike points) argent.] This bordure differeth in form from both the other, and is thus blazoned; he beareth, Gules, a bordure indented, Argent. Mr. Wyrly, in his Book intituled, The true use of Armes, [...] doth therein make mention of one Sir Perducas Dalbreth, to whom this Coat-armour did properly appertain, and describeth the same in this manner. Sir Perducas Dalbreth to the French return'd, Who Guly shield about his neck did sling Wrapt with dent bordure silver shining.

F. DENT [in Heraldry] a Bordure Dent is when the Out-line of it is notched in and out.
