Adverb vs. adjective

[edit]

Hi @Oigolue

I suspect many of the forms that you've added here belong to *deretrárius. Could you please move any forms which are adjectives (meaning 'final' or such) to that page? Nicodene (talk) 19:00, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

As far as i know, they all mean "behind", at least it's how i found them. Oigolue (talk) 19:04, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Oigolue Ah I see. Thanks for confirming. I should have checked Occitan Wiktionary, which mentions darrier as both an adjective and adverb. Looks like there was phonetic collision between de retro and *deretrarius. Nicodene (talk) 19:09, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, i checked it and they are identical, similar in catalan darrer/darrere (the latter being pronounced in informal speech as "radere" most of the time) Oigolue (talk) 19:10, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
