Exact meaning
[edit]The term subsidiary is used as a translation for dceřinná společnost, googling showed. Also, the meaning of dceřinná společnost matches the definition given at subsidiary. Still, whether the meanings fit exactly is open, especially because of differences in various jurisdictions. --Daniel Polansky 11:49, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- Proofreading.cz : Dceřiný, nikoli dceřinný. Poměrně často objevuje i podoba "dceřinný", správná je výhradně varianta s jedním "n". --Diligent
- So I checked:
- There, "dceřiná společnost" has higher rate than "dceřinná společnost", while "dceřinná společnost" is still common.
- The link http://www.proofreading.cz/dceriny-nikoli-dcerinny (which you are probably quoting) states that "the only correct variant" is "dceřiná". The link refers to http://www.ujc.cas.cz/poradna/porfaq.htm - "Jazyková poradna ÚJČ AV ČR", section "dceřiný". In this section, they indeed state that the "correct" variant is "dceřiný" and that we "should" use that one. However, they provide no derivation or explanation of their correctness claim, other than a mention of "Pravidla českého pravopisu" AKA "PČP" AKA the official rules of Czech orthography. --Dan Polansky 08:22, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
