Challenging sense 1: "A title which is either inherited or conferred in Malaysia." Not to be confused with unchallenged sense 2: "A local headman in many parts of central Malaysia and the southern Philippines." So what does sense 1 really mean? Is this a title (like "captain" or "admiral") for somebody who holds the headman role of #2? Or is it a totally meaningless inherited title within the culture? I don't feel that #1 defines anything properly, and I suspect it might really be best subsumed in #2. Equinox ◑ 08:45, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
