I don’t understand the derivation from *gwey-; wouldn’t that have produced *bey- in Proto-Celtic ? Ok, the article doesn’t mention Proto-Celtic, to be fair, so is this a loan from Germanic? That would work, or not? CecilWard (talk) 20:13, 24 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
