Specialized use

[edit]

The term is used in gem collecting, to refer to particularly nice specimens. see this wp search: [1]. Since this is way off the meaning related to neotony, i think it needs adding. i have not added defs here before.(mercurywoodrose)75.61.141.7 05:43, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Usage notes

[edit]

The usage notes are incorrect or outdated, I can speak for the UK and say it's usages not American or Canadian and is widely used without any north American conations. Perhaps the usage notes should be removed or updated LandmarkFilly54 (talk) 23:12, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Agree, they seem to have been there for quite a long time, but they’re definitely not correct. Remove them. Zhivämky (talk) 10:03, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I believe the note is talking about the “acute” and “attractive” meanings, although in my experience those are also used in the UK, even if potentially less commonly than in North America. Zhivämky (talk) 10:09, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
