Cited — from three different ZX Spectrum periodicals, as it happens, but I only really remember seeing this term in those early video-gaming magazines. I have heard a possibly separate interjection since then (on the Internet), which seems to be an illiterate form of "cool" (compare "sup" for "what's up", "aight" for "all right"). I'm not sure. I recall the interjection "coo" from before "cool" was an interjection, but I don't know the true etymology. Might it be a corruption of cor blimey? It was in common use for an older generation in the UK. The Right Honourable John Redwood (British MP) used it in his on-line diary[1] just a couple of weeks ago. Dbfirs 08:35, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Isn't coo a verb too? Meaning to make the sound of a dove.
