"Conjure"

Final definition?

Would it be possible for someone to verify if the last definition (conspire or plot) is a valid definition. I can't find it in any of my paper-based dictionaries, nor have I ever come across the verb conjure in this sense. Any citation possible?

It was an early meaning, closely connected with the etymology. I don't know whether the association with magic goes back to Old French or some vintage of Latin, but it is apparently post-classical Latin. DCDuring Holiday Greetings! 16:16, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
