Chocolate thing (noun & verb). --Connel MacKenzie 10:37, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Looks OK. Do a Google search for "conch" and "chocolate" and you'll get lots of hits describing the process. --EncycloPetey 10:41, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh yes! This is real - I have actually done it (in my youth when I was an industrial chemist for a food company). I shall improve the definitions when I have more time. SemperBlotto 08:35, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Neat. I should have stated my question about it better: is it really "chocolate-making jargon" or is it generic use of the word to mean "like a conch-shaped thing" / "using a conch shaped thing". --Connel MacKenzie 16:22, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Fixed and expanded. I don't believe the term is used outside of the chocolate-making world. (For those of you who wonder why a chemist was conching - I used one when my firm was trying to develop a cheap alternative to cocoa butter) SemperBlotto 17:39, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
