Talk:comfortable

I've added an IPA template to show its pronunciation, but I'm unsure as to whether the symbol after the k is right, it might have to be replaced by a schwa. I'm not sure how to tell the difference between the two, please change it if I was wrong.Scotty Zebulon 00:48, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- A schwa is definitely wrong since the syllable has secondary stres. --Explosivo (talk) 22:43, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
Able to be comforted
[edit]I wonder whether there is a sense "able to be comforted", i.e. consolable. It's hard to search. Equinox ◑ 21:36, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
IPA for General American
[edit]When choosing to swallow the second syllable, why is it /ˈkʌmf.tɚ.bəl/ with a rhotic /ɚ/? There is not R in -table. --Explosivo (talk) 22:43, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
