Police civilian or not? Note that in some countries and societies police are subject to civil law, while in others they are not, and likewise are sometimes considered non-combatants, and sometimes not. Under different definitions, therefore, members of a police force are both civilians (under specific laws) and not civilians (in the older, wider, "traditional" sense of the word) It would be great to see this entry refined to reflect both uses of the word, Thanks Cuvtixo 16:29, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
