Sassafras in wurundjeri country

It's odd to me that John Green documented a woiwrurrung word for sassafras given that according to wikipedia there is not a sassafras endemic to wurundjeri country (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atherospermataceae#species) - As such it's not clear to me which particular genus of sassafras is being referred to here. There are a number endimic to NSW and it may be one of those JakeEwings (talk) 04:35, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
