Being derived from a proper noun, why isn't this also capitalised?

It probably has lost the connection to its origins, in the same way that terms such as hamburger (Hamburg, Germany), wiener (Vienna, Austria), turkey (Turkey) and spaniel, (Spain) have. Chuck Entz (talk) 01:07, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
