Pronunciation

The article about "chastise" lacks information about pronounciation (i.e. phonetics and a recorded sample of the word)! Thank you

- I added some IPA. In the future, you may wish to consider adding
{{rfp}}(request for pronunciation) or{{rfap}}(request for audio pronunciation) to the entry. What this does is it puts the entry in a category, where it can easily be managed, whereas talk pages sometimes go for a long time without anybody looking at them (I only caught this one because I saw its creation on Special:RecentChanges). —Internoob (Disc•Cont) 16:56, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Spelling

- Yes chastize and chastise are alternative spellings but I don't know which is consider more Queen's English and which is considered more American English — Roguebfl (talk) 22:06, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
- Chastise is standard in the US- it doesn't seem to be part of the (US) -ize / (UK) -ise alternation. Advertise is another such case. Chuck Entz (talk) 23:14, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
- It ought to be labelled as archaic (as used by Spenser and Malthus) in the UK, but it appears occasionally in American writing. I'll add a note. Dbfirs 21:37, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
