Rfv-sense: In a certifiable manner.

Is this adverb ever used as a manner adverb, modifying a verb? There are abundant examples of it modifying a wide variety adjectives. DCDuring TALK 14:19, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think this is already cited by the four citations for the following sense. 'Certifiably insane' for example. Insane to an extent it is certifiable. Mglovesfun (talk) 22:06, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
A manner adverb is supposed to be one that modifies a verb. I find it hard to imagine an illustration - hence the RfV - but He was practicing medicine certifiably would do, but not "Certifiably, he was practicing medicine." (sentence modal adverb). Other dictionaries aren't much help because few offer definitions for -ly adverbs. DCDuring TALK 23:39, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
