I am unsatisfied with this definition. My impression (although I may be wrong) is that the word is used almost exclusively with young women who are perceived to be somewhat vacuous. The word gets 116,000 Google hits; celebutante + "Paris Hilton" gets 42,600; + "Britney Spears" gets 24,500; + "Lindsay Lohan" gets 19,900; and + "Anna Nicole Smith" gets 18,400.
