Even in old texts, and apparently not as a mistake, you can find instances of a "comparisoned" horse. Was this once an alternative form of caparisoned? Equinox 13:35, 11 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Clothsell (consider "cloth" + Fr. "selle") is an hippological term for a "trotting horse" and has certain obsolete figurative nuances (appears in ref. to Shakespeare), the clothsell or cloth-sell is a reference to its caparacson. 113.150.225.99 06:28, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
