- As an American, "canceled" looks only like a spelling error to me. Could this be another typo propogated by an error in Microsoft Word's spell checker, version 1.0? --Connel MacKenzie T C 06:47, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
I was always taught "canceled" was the correct (U.S.) spelling, and an exception to the rule of doubling the consonant before the -ed. Thankfully it seems that version is now becoming archaic, and the rule-conforming version is becoming standard. I am switching to "cancelled". 69.171.140.70 16:53, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
