Two things:

1. I believe one more implication of this phrase is that the piece of machinery (such as an automobile) makes a lot of noise while driving, sounding noisy as would a bucket full of metal bolts. This sense is not reflected in the current definition, which simply refers to the lack of value of the machinery.

2. Having only an appearance in print from 2005 fails to show the origin or first appearances in print of this phrase. Can we add this
