OED entry
[edit]It is in the OED. The etymology is from the Latin bubulcitāre, bubulcitāri from bubulcus - cowherd. There are a couple of quotes.
- H. Cockeram's "English Dictionary" of 1623: Bubulcitate, to cry like a cow boy.
- E. Phillips's "New World of Words" of 1678: Bubulcitate, to do the office of a Bubulcus or Cowheard.
