to face boldly or shamelessly

[edit]
brazen out or through, to face boldly or shamelessly: He prefers to brazen it out rather than admit defeat.

Isn't Random House Unabridged Dictionary of American English's meaning rather negative? --Backinstadiums (talk) 16:58, 1 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

The word is related to brass, as if a person is made of brass so they are barely human, they have no shame. It can be used negatively. Common collocation: "brazen hussy", a shameless slutty woman. Equinox 17:03, 1 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
