According to the Cambridge Grammar of the English Language, page 120

read and write are atelic, but adding an object that is ‘bounded’ yields a telic expression: [13 ] She’s writing a note [telic: 
accomplishment] ii She’s writing notes. [atelic: activity]

1. Confined by bonds; tied: bound hostages.

3. Equipped with a cover or binding: bound volumes.
