Is the joke term, "blackberry jam" meaning a people traffic jam caused by someone slowing down to read a text message, common enough to add here? ~ Logodaedalist | Talk ~ 02:14, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Blackcurrant

[edit]

Equinox wonders which regions of the UK call blackcurrants blackberries. I've heard this, but I've assumed that the person saying this was just confused. Are there some regions where brambles and ribes are both called blackberries (as opposed to black berries)? Dbfirs 13:27, 12 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

bumblekite and scaldberry

[edit]

These are two old British terms for the blackberry, found in many dictionaries but difficult to attest in actual usage. Equinox 19:23, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
