What is it?
[edit]What is an indicator stick? Like for checking a car's oil, or for checking whether one is pregnant? 71.66.97.228 06:17, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- No, it’s a stick such as a twig or small branch that you can use to indicate or point with. Teachers use them in classrooms, they are used in the shoe games, band leaders conduct orchestras with them. If someone is pregnant, you could use an indicator stick to point at her and say "she’s pregnant." I guess if you take your car to a garage, you could use an indicator stick to point out the place where the mechanic is to add more oil. Anything you’d like to point at with a twig. —Stephen (Talk) 07:51, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
I would refer to that as a "pointer" (the electronic version being a laser pointer), rather than an indicator stick. There used to be metal ones that telescoped like a television antenna. A conductor's stick is called a baton. 71.66.97.228 08:21, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
- Think of it as a new word. —Stephen (Talk) 19:40, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
