Just used in Northern England?

I doubt that 'beck' is used solely in Northern England. I know for a fact that here in Norfolk it has at least occasional usage, as one local stream is named Shelton Beck. (Woodgreener) 86.146.109.227 12:04, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

• Interesting.. normally this is associated with the former Danish (and Norwegian) bits of England, which generally started at Lincolnshire, so Norfolk is a little further south than you'd imagine. But without knowing exactly where Shelton Beck got its name it's hard to say how unusual it is. Ƿidsiþ 12:21, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
