Verb
[edit]@DTLHS, thank for taking a stab at sorting this entry out. However, I’m not sure all the inflected forms are correct. The verb phrase “beat as one” is, as far as I can see, used exclusively with the object “hearts” which is a plural form. Thus, I’m not sure one would ever use “[heart?] beats as one” or “hearts beaten as one” (since the form “beat” is always used in this context). — SGconlaw (talk) 14:57, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Sgconlaw More citations added. (Are pings working? I didn't see this one). DTLHS (talk) 16:38, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
- There was a typo which I corrected. It didn't work after that? — SGconlaw (talk) 16:50, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
- Ah, OK, thanks. Looks like beats as one and beaten as one are attestable in this context. — SGconlaw (talk) 16:52, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
