My feeling is that flogging a dead horse is the more common useage....any comments? — This unsigned comment was added by 20.133.0.14 (talk) at 08:16, 13 May 2005 (UTC).
- "flogging..." is unheard of in the US. --Connel MacKenzie 08:01, 14 May 2005 (UTC)
- This phrase with the word "flogging" is unheard of in the U.S., but the word "flogging" itself is not.
- However, has anyone actually (at least, in a situation other than when they're trying to be funny) used "flogging a deceased equine"? It looks to me as if someone simply ran "flogging a dead horse" through some thesaurus program and came up with a new phrase they thought sounded cool. — V-ball 21:04, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
