Bangking: Ilocano

[edit]

@Yivan000 Are you sure this is Tagalog and not code switching with Ilocano? Being in diksiyonaryo.ph doesn't mean it's automatically Tagalog/Filipino. 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 00:25, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Up until recently, I thought it was just a standard part of Tagalog. It is widely used with people I know from Baguio, Ilocos, & Cagayan. Even this and this Redditors even thought it was also a regular Tagalog word. — 🍕 Yivan000 viewtalk 00:34, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Yivan000 Now is this penultimate or ultimate stress? Rubino says it's ultimate and Tagalog usually have ultimate stresses on closed penultimate syllables (penultimate syllable has a consonant after the vowel in the same syllable) 𝄽 ysrael214 (talk) 01:46, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@ysrael214 Me and people I know use the ultimate stress. Although it's weird that diksiyonaryo.ph lists it as the penultimate stress, since it's weird to pronounce it as such. — 🍕 Yivan000 viewtalk 14:21, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
