   For what it's worth, "assumpsit" was the first word on the first reading assignment that Elizabeth Warren assigned to a law school class that included one of the current generation of Kennedy brats, according to one of them who introduced her to the 2016 Democratic National Convention on its first day.

John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1873) says that sumsy was a slang term for this kind of legal action. I'm having trouble citing it. Equinox 05:24, 30 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
