Sense 3 for the noun on this page refers to the NASA spacecraft, but I would have thought this was only found capitalised as Aqua or AQUA. Caladon 09:24, 3 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Nor is it a common noun. Should be deleted. Equinox 10:59, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cosmetics ingredient lists

[edit]

Like parfum for fragrance, I seem to remember seeing aqua used as a fancy euphemism for water in the ingredient lists of cosmetic products. Our "inorganic compound" gloss doesn't suggest such usage outside of chemistry. Equinox 21:03, 11 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Just saw it again as the first ingredient (by volume) in hand sanitizer. Equinox 00:19, 17 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Etymology for Latin and its source do not match

[edit]

De Vaan’s entry for aqua does not suggest an IE pre-form **h₂ekʷeh₂. You can view this by using the link in the source. Therefore a brief rewrite of the etymology is appropriate and I will do so if there is no discussion after some time. Qovqa (talk) 01:36, 19 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
