I believe that when Apocrypha is used to refer to the books of the Bible it is capitalized, but when used in a more general sense it is not. I'm not 100% sure of this, though. Ortonmc 23:26, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Meaning: "Non-canonical"

[edit]

I have seen this word used to mean a non-canonical text of any kind. Canonical, in turn, I have seen used in reference to a work produced by the original author(s) and could be described as official or authoritative. Non-canonical is a contributive work, expanding on the original, not sourced from the original author(s), unofficial.
